A delicious soft shell shrimp pasta dish featuring creamy sauce and crispy shrimp. The recipe includes sautéed onions, garlic, and a rich blend of cheeses, served over ravioli. Perfect for shrimp lovers!
In a deep skillet, melt the butter and sauté the onion on medium low for about 15 minutes. Add garlic and sauté for another 3 minutes.
Add in the flour and tomato paste, and cook for about 5 minutes.
Stir in the water, bouillon, and half and half. Bring to a simmer. Add the tomatoes (drain the liquid) and stir in half the cheese. Season well.
Add in the pasta and simmer until cooked, about 5 minutes.
Top with the remaining half of the cheese and some parsley.
For the shrimp: Heat some oil until about 300°F.
In one bowl, combine the egg, milk, hot sauce, and mustard. Add the fish fry mix to a second bowl.
Cut the heads off the shrimp, leaving the peels on. Dip in the milk/egg mixture, then in the fish fry. Place into the hot oil and cook for about 5 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
Drain on a wire rack or paper towels. Add on top of your pasta.
